Website Planning
Behind every effective website there's a good concept. Planning
the content of your pages and defining the architecture of your
site are key components of a successful design. During the planning
phase, well
- Clarify your goals for the site
- Explore your mission statement and your vision for the site
- Define your target audience
- Examine the message you want to communicate
- Evaluate the content thats available to support your message
- Develop a storyboard
- Decide on the graphical, organizational, and navigational elements
- Discuss site hosting, training, and maintenance
At the end of the planning phase, youll have a clear idea
of what needs to be done in order to achieve your website goals,
and youll be ready to move into the development phase. Good
plans put in place before the first line of code ever gets written
will save you money and ensure that your site is easy to use, functional,
and effective.

Website Development
After the storyboard and the design have been approved and the
existing content has been evaluated, its time to begin building
your site. This is where the careful plans developed in phase one
will come to life. Using your plan as the foundation, the content
that you provide (or we develop for you) will be turned into web
pages. Your input will be solicited frequently throughout this phase
to ensure that the resulting pages meet your expectations. During
the development phase well
- Scan, correct as necessary, and optimize any images that will
be used
- Design graphical elements (logo, graphical navigation etc.)
- Proofread, edit, and/or develop all written content
- Code all pages using HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and JavaScript
- Create necessary forms and/or calendar pages
- Upload the completed site to your ISP
- Provide maintenance training as necessary

Website Maintenance
This service is presented last because it is assumed you have to
plan and develop a website before you can maintain it, but maintenance
is actually a critical element of the planning phase. Dont
let yours be an orphan website. If you dont have someone on
your staff that you can assign site maintenance to, then hire a
professional. The investment is minimal, and theres no quicker
way to lose credibility with your savvy web audience than failing
to keep your website current.
